
Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari has said that Iraq will head the conference on disarmament, scheduled take place on Tuesday, as they have managed to meet their international commitments. In a statement, the ministry affirmed that the foreign minister met with the Arab ambassador to the United Nations to discuss the country's progress and ways to get rid of sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council against the country. The meeting was attended by a number of Iraqi diplomats, including Ambassador Hala Shaker, Ambassador Ahmed Pamerny and Ambassador Mohamed Saber Ismail. The statement added that the diplomat briefed the Arab ambassadors Iraq's vision regarding recent developments on an regional and international scale, including the Syrian crisis. The ambassador praised Iraq's initiative in briefing them on the recent developments.
