Iraqi security forces killed Tuesday two leaders of the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (DAESH) group in the West of Mosul.
State-run television station Iraqiya reported today that the killing was during combat between Iraqi forces and Daesh militants. Iraqi security forces also killed 19 other DAESH militants by blowing up two houses in Baqubah in the North-East of Iraq.
Yesterday, Daesh militants seized the northern Iraqi city of Tal Afar. The group had also captured key Iraqi cities Mosul and Tikrit last week. The US said that DAESH was a threat to its interests, with Obama adding he was considering airstrikes against Iraq.
