
Hugh Robertson condemns terrorist attack in Beirut and says such attacks cannot be allowed to destabilise Lebanon. Following this morning’s terrorist attack in southern Beirut which killed at least five people and injured many more, Minister of State for the Middle East Hugh Robertson said: “I strongly condemn the terrorist attack near the Iranian Cultural Centre in southern Beirut today and send my condolences to the families of those killed and injured, and to the people of Lebanon. Such criminal and callous attacks cannot be allowed to destabilise the country and the wider region. The UK is strongly committed to working with the new Lebanese government in support of peace and stability.”
