The leader of the Hamas movement, Dr Mahmoud al-Zahar said that every drop of blood shed during this Israeli aggression is the beginning to liberate Palestine from occupation. Al-Zahar told Arabstoday that the period of Israel's invasion has ended, bringing with it a new phase of blood and weapons. He added that there was no choice but resistance for the Palestinian people. Dr Ahmed Bahar, the First Deputy Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, praised the agreement signed between the Palestinian resistance and occupation under Egyptian auspices. Bahar said that the truce agreement shows that the Israel has caved in to demands and conditions of the resistance. "The resistance has achieved a historic victory over the occupation and founded the battle for overall liberalisation of the land and the holy sites," he said. He praised Egypt's role in the completion of the truce agreement, along with efforts of other Arab nations in supporting the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli aggression.
