Tripoli – Emad Agag

Head of the Tripoli Revolution Council Abdullah Naker has claimed on Libya TV that he is holding Abdullah Senussi, Muammar Gaddafi’s former intelligence chief. Senussi, who is also Gaddafi’s brother-in-law, is wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity. This is the second time Naker has claimed to have had Senussi, as he made a similar claim on December 2 last year. Speaking on TV on Sunday, he said that he would not hand him over to the government but that he had discussed his prisoner with American officials.  He said that Senussi had many secrets, which, if divulged, would cost the Libyan people a great deal of money. There is widespread scepticism in Libya as to Naker’s claims. He has never shown any photos of Senussi or provided proof of his alleged captivity.
