The head of the Syrian coalition, Moaz al-Khatib confirmed that he will not remain in office as head of coalition if he feels he does not serve the cause of the Syrian people. Taking his social network site to express his comments, Khatib said: “I said two months ago that if I felt my position does not serve my country and becomes a tool of deception; I will leave it with no regret." Al-Khatib added that it will not be an easy decision but he confirmed that he has set a particular date, after which he will decide if he will stay or leave. If he leaves, he will certainly go to a better place to serve the interests of the Syrian people. Moreover, he expressed concern over the strong pressure exerted on the opposition, saying: "Time is running out and whatever the decision is, it must be taken rapidly", stressing that “severe pressures will be exerted in attempt to break our will, but we will stick to what we think is the right thing.”
