Hanoune urges for 'fair' Algerian election

The Algerian Workers' Party Secretary General Louisa Hanoune stressed on Monday the needs to meet standards ensuring fair presidential elections to "mark the beginning of a new era." Hanoune’s remarks came during the opening a session for the party political bureau. She explained that these standards include some conditions such as: correcting the electoral rolls, and appointing an independent committee to monitor the elections. Hanoune also said that the session will discuss the country's current events, including the health condition of President Bouteflika.
