Hamas renews threats for third intifada

Hamas co-founder Mahmoud al-Zahar has repeated threats of a looming third Palestinian intifada. “The third intifada will come and sweep the West Bank and the rest of Palestine occupied in 1948,” he said. “The resistance will fight all forms of violence.” Zahar, speaking in a press statement on Sunday, predicted an uprising beginning in the towns and villages of the West Bank. “It will follow the same pattern of resistance that ended Israel’s occupation of the Gaza Strip in 2005,” he claimed. “The next uprising will be not be like its predecessor [2000’s al-Aqsa Intifada], it will be the beginning of the liberation.”
