A number of “Israeli agents" have turned themselves in to authorities in the Gaza Strip, in the wake of a concerted anti-espionage campaign, security official Mohammed Laffi said on Thursday. Speaking at a local elders’ conference, Laffi claimed Gaza’s Interior Ministry had brought together civil society and social organisations to “halt espionage on behalf of the occupation.” “Israeli intelligence operations have been suffering from an obvious state of confusion,” he said. Laffi revealed that local elders will be assigned differing duties in the right against these “agents.” Palestinian Scholars' League President Dr Nassim Yassine meanwhile added: "This problem is a very serious one and jeopardises society with collapse, destruction and division." "This phenomenon requires a radical solution," he claimed.
