Gaza - Mohammed Habib
Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for Hamas, said that the Palestinian resistance factions are still carefully studying the terms of the truce with the occupation, carefully concentrating on the finer details. "A number of pivotal points regarding the Palestinian citizens were discussed with the occupation under Egyptian authorities regulation” added Abu Zuhri in a statement, on Saturday evening. He pointed out that among the most important issues that have been completed include the agricultural area adjacent to the eastern lines of the Gaza Strip, where it was agreed that the farmers can go to their border farms without being targeted by the occupation. "Many issues were discussed such as border crossings and the right of movement. We raised our demands and our conditions to the Egyptian intelligence and we will discuss these with the Israeli occupation on Monday." In a phone call, Rafat Shehadeh, Egyptian Minister of Intelligence, told Ismail Haniyeh, Gaza’s Prime Minister that Gaza’s fishermen were allowed to enter distance of six miles instead of three. For six years, fishermen were suffering all the various types of harassment by the Israeli navy, which had prevented the entry of more than three miles at sea. In a brief statement on Saturday, the cabinet said that an Egyptian-Israeli meeting will be held on Monday to discuss issues relating to the agreement, including the border area. Haniyeh thanked the Egyptian Minister on the efforts, pointing out that he had dispatched envoys to Cairo to provide the required details and information. A series of meetings between Egypt and the Israelis started on Friday to discuss mechanism of implementing the terms of the truce reached between the Palestinian factions and the Israeli occupation, after eight days of aggression on Gaza.
