Egyptian security forces based at a security checkpoint in Arish, North Sinai, have come under attack from unknown gunmen. Security sources confirmed that the attackers used automatic weapons in the raid, prompting security personnel to fire back. No casualties were reported. Sources added that the latest attack in Arish may have been from jihadist fighters behind last month's kidnapping of seven security officers in North Sinai.
