Algiers - Hocine Boussalah
“El Taqweem wa el Taaseel Movement in the National Liberation Front (FLN )”  (The Movement of Redressing the FLN) has called on forces within Algeria's ruling party, led by Secretary-General Abdelaziz Belkhadem to unite and restructure the historical Party House and "discourage opportunists". The FLN, led by President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, holds a majority in Algeria's parliament. On Sunday evening, representatives of 38 governorates and province under “El Taqweem wa el Taaseel Movement" said they opposed Belkhadem's policies and denounced what they considered "exclusionary behaviors applied by the Secretary-General of the party". Belkhadem was accused of giving instructions to the trustees of provincial states appointed by him to  exclude sincere members of the party "because they expressed opposing views". On Sunday, spokesperson for the “El Taqweemia movement” and former MP Mohammad El Saghir Karah told Arabstoday that the meeting was aimed at uniting the party's factions with a common focus. A meeting was held before the date of local elections on November 29 that brought together opponents to Belkhadem, and put an end to the "policy of deportation for all those who presents any risk to Belkhadem through the direct opposition". "Belkhadem's front has turned into a private institution serving his own interests," said Karah. "The secretary-general has emptied the party of its content, effectiveness, contact with people, and concerns of the home, in addition to the party's absence from participating in important issues for the country," he added. The “El Taqweemia movement” has not changed its stance demanding Belkhadem's departure from the party's leadership. Members of the FLN's central committee who are opposed to Belkhadem are preparing to go to the national headquarters on Monday to condemn once again the events of a central committee meeting in June. Karah blamed Belkhadem for inciting violence during the session.
