Federal Authority for Government Human Resources
Dubai - Arab Today

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Director-General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, FAHR, has confirmed that the UAE pays great attention to upgrading the development of the human element as the real capital of its progress and prosperity, and a means to promote a sustainable knowledge economy in it.

He noted the keen interest of the wise leadership represented by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to adopt the best global practices and experiences to achieve those objectives and provide a work environment which encourages people to attain the highest levels of creativity and innovation.

The government has embraced innovation and set high benchmarks for government efficiency, but in order to ensure success, a highly capable world-class human capital base is essential.

The remarks were made when Dr. Al Awar yesterday opened the Sixth International Conference on Human Resources, FAHR, organised by the authority under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

Under the theme of, "The Future of HR and its Role in Transforming Governmental Capabilities", the 2016 conference agenda features important topics and specialised sessions led by global and regional pioneers sharing their insights, best practices and innovations in the development of government human capital.

Aligned with the strategic vision and national agenda of the UAE, the 2016 International FAHR conference this year is dedicated to the development and transformation of HR in government and public organisations.

More than 500 experts and specialists interested in the field of human resources attended the two-day event, as well as a number of ministers, civil service and administrative development agencies of the GCC, and senior human resources officials from both government and private sectors from around the world.
