Beirut – George Shahin

Tripoli was racked by four explosions overnight that targeted new areas close to the conflict hotspots of Sons of Baal Mohsen Alawities and Al-Tabana Al-Sunia. Interior minister Marwan Charbel and general director of Internal Security Forces General Ashraf Reefy have been investigating the incidents.. The bombing started at 9.45pm. Reprted  sounds turned out to be a result of  an explosion in Abou Ali River. Investigations said unknown people threw a bomb or an explosive. It wad hard to identify the nature of the explosion because of the river. At 11pm another one exploded in School Street next to the Tripoli municipality. Seven minutes later, two bombs exploded and they didn’t result in any damage. At the same time there was shooting in Souq Al-Kamh. Immediately there were police patrols with several checkpoints and investigations to identify the cause behind the explosions. Security sources told Arabstoday that a group drove an unknown car around Tripoli and threw those bombs to destabilise security. Earlier on February 10 armed clashed broke between two parties that resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.
