
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held a phone conversation on Thursday which was dominated by the Syria issue, Anadolu news agency quoted presidential sources as saying.
They discussed recent developments in Aleppo, the wider Syrian issue and the fight against terrorism, the sources noted. Erdogan briefed Merkel on Turkey’s Operation Euphrates Shield in northern Syria, the sources added.
