Egypt’s Interior Ministry arrests 27 citizens

Egypt’s Interior Ministry has announced security forces succeeded in arresting 27 defendants who participated in riots at Cairo’s Qasr el-Nil bridge and burned down an armoured vehicle in Tahrir Square in the early hours of Tuesday. The suspects also allegedly imprisoned and assaulted a police officer in a nearby hotel. The Interior Ministry said in a press statement that they took “necessary measures,” referring them to public prosecutors for subsequent investigations.
