Cairo – Akram Ali
The “Youth Federation of Maspero” has announced that they are in the process of preparing a dossier detailing the 9 October clashes   in Maspero, where 27 people were killed and more than 300 injured. The report aims to send a message to the United Nations Commission for Human Rights. The federation coordinator Rami Kamel, said in a press release: “The report will include photographs, video-clips, and testimonies from wounded activists, which all prove the army shot at protestors.” The Egyptian army has denied that soldiers fired at protestors in Maspero, and also reports that soldiers ran over civilians, stating that is not part of the army’s principles. Kamel added: “We are translating the report written by the Fact-Finding Committee, which was formed by the National Commission for Human Rights, to English, in order to attach it with the file.” He stated that the governmental report ignored the actual facts, similar to the previous regime’s actions. The report accused a third party of unidentified civilians of firing at people, explaining that security forces did not fire on protestors and only used rubber bullets to break down the demonstrations.
