Egypt’s former military chief of staff general, Sami Anan, has submitted his resignation from his position as president's adviser to military affairs. He expressed solidarity with Egyptian people, who refuse suppression, violations to freedoms and the current division of the Egyptian community. Anan has stressed the need to conduct early presidential elections to suspend the bloodshed of Egyptians. He added that Egypt has witnessed a notable deterioration within recent years, stressing that the Muslim Brotherhood works to exclude others to achieve its own interests. He praised the military institution for honouring its promises when it handed over the power to the elected president after the recent presidential elections. He stressed that military leaders gave priority to the interest of the country to protect its security and stability
