Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Kamel Amr, has resigned from his position. Earlier, five ministers announced their resignations from the government including Tourism Minister, Hisham Zazou, Communications Minister Dr Atef Hilmi, the State's Legal Affairs Adviser Hatim Begato, Minister of State for Environmental Affairs Dr Khalid Fahmi and Minister for Public Utilities Dr Abdul-Gawi Khalifa. Diplomatic sources in the foreign ministry told Arab Today that the Amr submitted his resignation to the PM Hisham Kandil on Tuesday. Sources added that Amr resigned due to "continuous interference" of the President's Assistant for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Essam Haddad, in Egypt's foreign policies and communication. Egyptian diplomats issued a statement in which they confirmed their full support to the legitimate demands of the Egyptian people following mass demonstrations in Egypt's squares.
