Arish – Youssry Mohammed

Tribal and security sources in Sinai said that militant groups in the region cut off a citizen’s head and threw it on a public road in central Sinai for allegedly colluding with Israel, three others were killed in the attack. A tribal source said that the militant groups in the region identified four people who were able to plant a landmine which succeeded in assassinating Ibrahim Awida while riding his motorcycle on the highway. The assassination was described as a consequence of the deceased's cooperation with the Israeli secret service MOSSAD. Militant groups succeeded on Thursday in kidnapping two of the perpetrators of the attacks and two others escaped into Israeli territory as they knew that the jihadists would pursue them. The Egyptian military and police have bolstered their presence in the lawless peninsula to battle Islamist militants after gunmen killed 16 soldiers at a border outpost on August 5.   The military on Wednesday said it has killed 11 militants and arrested 23 since the start of the unprecedented campaign involving tanks and helicopters.   Jihadi groups resumed new attacks on security barriers in Sinai. At least four gunmen on board an  SUV without number plates targeted  a security cordon in el-Risah for the 33rd time since the January 25 revolution. Security sources said the gunmen attacked a checkpoint with automatic weapons and security forces responded to the source of the fire. Clashes took place between the two sides for a limited period without injuries. Earthmoving operations continued near smuggling tunnels on the border between Egypt and Gaza Strip. Equipment continues to slowly work in the nearby areas of the population for fear of landslides and collapses in the region. Security services found the bodies of three African migrants dumped in the mountainous area near the border between Egypt and Israel and bearing signs of torture that caused the deaths. Security sources said that the bodies of two men and a woman did not have an identifiable possession of records, the three bodies were taken to Arish hospital. Smuggling gangs sometimes carry out torture operations against African migrants when they disagree on paying for their infiltration into the Israeli territory.
