Suez - Sayed Abdullah

Egyptian security officials have reported the seizure of a huge shipment of explosives in Suez, believed destined for the South Sinai. Police and army officers patrolling the Suez Canal Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel intercepted the truck of explosives, which was heading from Cairo towards South Sinai. The driver of the vehicle claimed he was fruit and vegetables, but upon inspection authorities found a tonne of explosives within cardboard boxes. In total, 500 kilograms of explosive powder was seized. During initial questioning, the driver admitted to intentionally transferring the explosives to South Sinai. Officials began preparing a report into the incident to formally bring forward charges.
