Egypt's Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim has asked the Ministry of Investment to issue an order to close down the offices of Qatari satellite news channel al-Jazeera. The interior minister accused the Qatari channel of depicting a false scenario of recent developments in Egypt, adding that the channel is working towards rallying the international community against Egypt. Ibrahim added that Egyptian Lawyer Mortada Mansour submitted two complaints against al-Jazeera adding that authorities are currently conducting investigations. According to Ibrahim, ousted president Mohammed Morsi pardoned a number of extremists who pose a serious threat against Egypt's national security. Ibrahim also praised the efforts of Egyptian security forces in ensuring the imprisonment of leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, adding that preventive security measures had a large influence on the number of Brotherhood protesters that took to the streets on Friday.
