Egypt’s Salafists’ Shura Council announced on Saturday that they will not be participating in pro-Islamist demonstrations organised by the Muslim Brotherhood on June 30. Al Nour Party have affirmed that there will be some efforts to restore truce between Islamic movements. Salafi Front spokesperson Khaled Saeed said that June 30 protest "should not call for toppling the regime" pointing out that the Front "welcomes the opposition" and believes in its role, but the "national security should also be taken into consideration." Egyptian opposition forces have called for mass demonstrations in protest against President Mohammed Morsi's policies on the one-year anniversary of his inauguration.
