Egypt's PM Kandil reiterates right to protest
Cairo - Akram Ali
Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil has said that the government "respects the right to peaceful demonstration." In a statement, the PM urged political parties to "preserve the peaceful political process." Kandil emphasised the need to "confront all forms of violence, including attacks on public facilities and policemen who are tasked with securing individuals and facilities." The prime minister said that Egypt faces "real challenges" and that it needs to "restore stability and recover economy."
