Egypt's Judge's Club announced that it will hold an urgent meeting on Wednesday for its members to discuss the articles linked to the judicial institutions in the latest draft of the new Egyptian constitution issued by the Constituent Assembly. This announcement came after the club issued a statement in which it rejected the draft, particularly for "decreasing the authority of the public prosecution". The club's statement also said that some of the articles included in the constitution draft "should be referred to the parliament as laws rather than constitutional articles". The club said that it is preparing a detailed note on the articles rejected by the club, especially the articles related to the judicial authority. The club urged the Constituent Assembly "to commit to the terms previously agreed between the Assembly and both of the Supreme Council of Judiciary and the General Assembly of the Court of Appeal".
