Egypt's state security prosecution has imprisoned an employee for 15 days under accusations of spying for the Israeli Intelligence Community Mossad. Investigations conducted by the prosecution revealed that the defendant had been working as a spy for Israel's Mossad since 2011. The accused submitted a complaint in 2012 to Egypt’s intelligence authority, claiming that an Israeli company had attempted to recruit him to "serve the interests of Mossad" in Egypt. However, investigations clarified that he had submitted the complaint to "protect himself in front of Egyptian authorities." Furthermore, it was revealed that the individual had resumed his activities and was collecting money from Mossad. Egypt's intelligence continued to monitor the man's activities in a number of Arab and foreign countries throughout 2012 and 2013.
