Cairo - Akram Ali

Egypt’s public prosecution has imprisoned a number of Muslim Brotherhood leaders for 15 days as investigations are underway. The leaders have been accused of "inciting to kill peaceful demonstrators" outside Brotherhood's guidance office, as well as for "insulting the judiciary." The arrested members include, Secretary General of Giza’s Freedom and Justice Party Helmy el-Gazzar, Muslim Brotherhood lawyer Abdel-Moneim Abdel-Maksoud and group member Mohamed el-Omda. Meanwhile, South Giza’s prosecution has released Chairperson of the Freedom and Justice Party Dr Saad el-Katatni, and Deputy Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood Dr Rashad Bayoumi following investigations.
