
Sudanese Minister of Defence Abdel-Raheem Mohamed Hussein highlighted on Thursday the ability of the country’s armed forces to confront insurgency and said any attempts to destabilise the country will be dealt with. The Sudanese minister was speaking during a visit to South Kordofan where he celebrated Eid al-Fitr with security forces. He called on militant groups to join the national dialogue in order to reach an agreement to end the state’s armed conflict. Meanwhile South Darfur's Governor Adam el-Falaki urged militia fighters to return to their countries, expressing his eagerness to keep social unity in the Sudanese state. He also pledged to provide all citizens with the necessary services.
