Cairo - Al Deeb Abu Ali

Muslim Brotherhood's media spokesman Yasser Mehrez has denied statements made by a controversial Egyptian media personality that the government is planning to arrest several media presenters, journalists and opposition leaders during protests on June 30. Television presenter Tawfiq Okasha disclosed the plot on his Facebook and Twitter pages. However, Mehrez has rubbished the claims and accused Okasha of attempting to divide the people of Egypt through "rumours and lies." The MB spokesman also denied that Defence Minister Abdul Fatah al-Sisi's position was under review, adding that the military had worked with the presidency to deploy troops across the country ahead of June 30 demonstrations.
