Bahrain on Sunday jailed 11 people for 15 years each over an attack on a police station in a Shiite village that left four policemen wounded, the prosecutor's office said.
The court in Manama also jailed a 12th defendant for seven years, said prosecutors in the Sunni-ruled kingdom which has a Shiite majority.
The 12 were accused of taking part in an attack in October in the village of Aaly, near the capital Manama, during which petrol bombs were lobbed at a police station.
A police car was also set on fire during the attack.
Bahrain's BNA state news agency said the men were charged with "premeditated murder", possession of explosives and starting a fire "for terrorist purposes", as well as unlawful assembly.
Bahrain, which is home to the US Navy's Fifth Fleet, has been rocked by unrest since security forces crushed Shiite-led protests in 2011 demanding a constitutional monarchy and an elected prime minister.
At least 89 people have been killed in clashes with security forces, while hundreds, most of them Shiite, have been arrested and put on trial, human rights groups say.
Shiite opposition leader Sheikh Ali Salman is behind bars for allegedly trying to overthrow the regime.
His arrest on December 28, shortly after he was re-elected head of Bahrain's main opposition party Al-Wefaq, has sparked near-daily protests in Shiite villages.
A new hearing in his trial, which opened on January 28, is expected to take place on Wednesday.
