Gaza - Mohammed Habib

A spokesman for the Palestinian People’s Party, Walid Al Awad, called for ceasefire as he attacked Israeli forces in a press conference on Tuesday. After a factional meeting on Monday, Awad declared that "Palestinian factions blame the Israel for the fierce attacks and are asking the international society and human rights organisations to rapidly intervene and stop the massacre against innocent Palestinians.” He described a “fog” surrounding the truth about recent bloodshed and called for Arab and Islamic movements to support Palestinians against Israel. Awad claimed that ceasing fire was essential to halt Israel’s movement towards targets which Palestinians believe includes sending a deterrence message to Iran and Lebanon, attracting the Egyptian side and using raids as a counter attack on Palestine’s directions to the United Nations. Awad claimed that "Netanyahu’s government wants to keep Gaza on fire as they go through further Israeli military escalations. This will not stop unless we witness support from Arab and Islamic states.”
