The agency for combating organized crime in Mostaganem, Algeria has arrested two people accused of smuggling drugs. According to an Algerian security source on Wednesday: "After investigations two people were arrested. On Tuesday evening, security forces found 17 thousand Algerian dinars in their possession and after searching two warehouses in the neighborhood, found a considerable amount of drugs, up to 12.76 kilograms. The defendants aged 27 and 37 will come before the prosecutor at the Court of Mostaganem on Wednesday on charges of forming a gang and trafficking drugs." Meanwhile, security sources from the state of Tlemcen said on Wednesday that they have confiscated 28 kg of drugs through investigations on 40 cases since October of last year. 63 people were involved in the cases. 51 of them were remanded and 227 hallucinogenic pills were confiscated. The source added that: "As for fuel smuggling in the border area, security forces were following five cases which ended in the confiscation of 650 liters of gasoline, the retrieval of two vehicles, and the arrest of two people."
