Algerian forces kill 8 AQIM militants

Algerian security forces killed eight armed men in Boumerdès province on Saturday, believed to be affiliated with militant group al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). Elsewhere, troops shot dead four armed men after a fierce gun battle in el-Shalf province, western Algeria. Three soldiers injured in the mission, were transferred to el-Sohba Hospital, as authorities launched investigations to identify the gunmen.
