Informed security sources in Beqaa Valley, east Lebanon, revealed to Arabstoday that the Lebanese army was able to release the kidnapped nightclub owner, who was abducted last Saturday in front of his club Zahle. Peter Atallah was let free after 48 hours when the army launched an intense investigation. Intelligence units conducted a number of raids in the town of Baalbek, Sunday afternoon and Monday morning. They were then able to seize one of the jeeps which was used in the kidnapping, leading to the arrest of those involved. However reasons behind his kidnapping are yet unknown, although preliminary investigation suggests ransom to be the main motive.
