
Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal said on Monday that Egypt is keen on strengthening relations with Mexico.
The remarks came during Abdel Aal's meeting with Mexican Ambassador in Cairo José Octavio Tripp in the presence of a delegation of Egyptian lawmakers.
Abdel Aal expressed hope for further cooperation in the parliamentary field and the formation of a parliamentary friendship association between the Egyptian Parliament and its Mexican counterpart.
The Mexican Ambassador said that bilateral relations have recently witnessed notable development citing an increase in Mexican investments in Egypt.
Regarding the parliamentary cooperation, the Mexican Ambassador asked Abdel Aal to support the Mexican nominee to the presidency of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the coming elections.
