Five civilians were killed and 28 others were wounded in bombings in Kirkuk, 250 km north of Baghdad. A source in the Kirkuk police office told Arabstoday that the three car-bombs were exploded on Sunday evening. The bombings targeted a shrine in a Shiite area north of Kirkuk, Al-Hussein Zahra in the south of Kirkuk and a Radio complex in the centre of Kirkuk. According to initial reports, five people were killed and 28 others were injured but a "high casualty toll is expected due to the intensity of the blasts" according to the source. The source, who requested anonymity, said that "the wounded were moved to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the dead bodies went to the forensic department." Security forces cordoned off around areas surrounding the explosions.
