40 of ISIL elements killed in Fallujah city

Forty elements of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed in Fallujah city of the Iraqi province of Al-Anbar, west of Baghdad, the joint special operations command in Iraq said Friday. Fifteen vehicles which were belonging to them were also set ablaze, it added. The killings were made by ground forces, which are supported by air forces, it said. Sunni militants linked to al-Qaeda have seized control of Falluja and parts of Ramadi, the two main cities in Anbar. Violence has surged across Iraq in the past year, reaching levels not seen since the height of the sectarian insurgency in 2007. Source: MENA
