Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced Monday that 33 trucks loaded with humanitarian and relief aid are on the way into the Gaza Strip through Rafah crossing on Gaza-Egypt borders.
In statements to KUNA, KRCS Vice Chairman Anwar Al-Hassawi said that the trucks carry over 10,000 foodstuff packs to war-traumatized Gazans.
He added that the shipment also included 5,000 school bags and stationaries, as well as 160 tons of medical supplies.
A Kuwaiti medical team, from Kuwait Medical Association, is escorting the convoy to oversee distribution of the medical supplies, Al-Hassawi noted.
He pointed out that the aid shipments and KRCS's efforts come in response to the instructions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to take all required measure to help alleviate the suffering of Gaza people particularly after the devastating 51-day Israeli war on the Strip.
