The crash occurred on an inter-city road between a passenger van traveling from Khartoum to Al-Hasahisa crashed in to a bus en route to Khartoum from Sinja. The El Kamlein traffic police director Colonel Maher Mahjoub said an overtake attempt by the driver of the smaller vehicle was to blame for the deadly accident which killed all 25 van passengers. El Kamlein governor Yussef Al-Zubair has been reported as saying that such accidents may be avoided by switching to one-direction traffic.
