3 Africans arrested on Egypt-Israel border

Security officials patrolling Egypt's border with Israel in North Sinai governorate have detained three African immigrants as they tried to enter Israeli territory. Sources said the trio were arrested as they attempted to cross the barbed wire which separates Egypt from Israel. There was a brief exchange of fire between authorities and the immigrants, before the three men were apprehended. Initial investigations have revealed that the men were trying to enter Israel to explore employment opportunities. They claimed to have paid $1000 each to criminal gangs who has promised a move to Israel.
