Tunisian security forces arrested an Algerian and a Moroccan on Sunday after they tried to cross the Tunisian-Algerian border illegally, with large amounts of foreign currency. A Tunisian security source told Arabstoday that "two foreigners, an Algerian and a Moroccan were arrested near the border city of Sidi Youssef." The duo crossed the border carrying "a large amount of British pounds." An investigation is under way to ascertain the objectives of why the two individuals were crossing the Tunisian borders illegally. Last week, two armed Libyans were arrested in Tunisia, after they crossed the border and opened fire on a Tunisian security post at Jedelouine, near Ras Jedir crossing in Medenine province.
