
Prime Minister Mohammed Salem Basendwa chaired on Monday a meeting of the Medical Council, discussing issues of medicine and nursing in Yemen. The meeting also discussed medical errors, how to avoid them, and how to enhance the oversight of medical institutions. The council reviewed needed requirements to develop quality of medicine and nursing services as well is measures which might be taken against doctors and nurses who commit medical errors. Basendowa urged all doctors to cooperate and work professionally to provide Yemenis with proper medical services and avoid any medical errors. Minister of Public Health and Population Ahmed al-Ansi stressed the importance of cooperation to enhance the oversight on medical institutions.
