Veterinarians in this coastal governorate staged a full strike Sunday as part of a nation-wide strike by vets. The strike included sub departments, vet units and slaughterhouses in the governorate. Some of the protesters gathered in Hassan Allam district carrying signs with their demands. They asserted that the vets are main partners in Egypt's health system. The vets said that the reason behind their strike is the government's non-endorsement of the doctors cadre and the non-commissioning of the veterinarian graduates in spite of the low number of doctors in the different sectors of the state.
