The National Ambulance Company stated that it handled 586 emergency calls regarding different incidents across the northern emirates during the Eid holiday. Of these calls, 362 were in Sharjah, 102 in Ras al Khaimah, 75 in Ajman, 40 in Fujairah, and seven in Umm Al Qaiwain. The calls reporting traffic accidents injuries accounted for 38 percent.
Ahmed Al Hajeri, Deputy CEO at the National Ambulance Company, noted that 95 percent of ambulances were utilised during the Eid. "There was an improved response-time through the prompt provision of paramedics and services to handle the accidents across the northern emirates. The company handled the emergencies through the 24 ambulance-equipped locations positioned across Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm Al Qaiwain," said Al Hajeri.
Continuing, Al Hajeri explained, "We will receive emergency calls on 999 and 997, and each call to the National Ambulance operations room will be promptly handled through a case prioritising system. We will then contact the nearest patrol using advanced map software and tracking systems." In the event of an emergency, Al Hajeri urged the public to cooperate with ambulances and not to not impede their work by crowding the scene of the accident. These guidelines enable the medical teams to quickly reach those that have been injured and provide them with the necessary medical services and treatment until they can be transported to the hospital for further treatment.
