
Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) said Turkish volunteer doctors performed 12 surgeries and examined 99 patients in 4 days at Gaza hospitals. Microsurgery units were established at Al-Shifa and Nasser hospitals to operate those who nearly lost their limbs in attacks staged by Israel since 2008. There are more than 900 men, 74 women and 63 children who lost their limbs due to lack of medical devices since 2012. TIKA has carried out more than 11 thousand projects in 100 countries since 2002. Afghanistan ranks first with 886 projects among the countries where TIKA offers help, followed by Azerbaijan with 771, Kyrgyzstan with 602, Kazakhstan with 598, Uzbekistan with 453, Mongolia with 427 and Tajikistan with 335. In the Balkans, TIKA has fulfilled nearly 2,500 projects and in the south African countries it has run more than 600 projects.
