Tunisia's Health Ministry rejects 100s medical resignations

A Tunisian Health Ministry official has refused the resignations of hundreds of doctors who complained about abuses within the profession as well as “poor” working conditions in many of Tunisia’s hospitals. Health Ministry Director General, Nabil Ben Saleh, meanwhile announced the launch of an initiative aimed at restoring confidence in hospitals, after hundreds of doctors submitted resignation letters. Ben Saleh confirmed that Health Minister Abdul Latif al-Makki had rejected the resignations, stressing the government would find “quick and meaningful” solutions to problems in the country’s medical infrastructure.
