Spanish region activates emergency protocol due to Ebola suspect

Health authorities in Zaragoza have activated the emergency protocol because a female citizen returning from Mali was suspected of being infected with Ebola virus.
Health authorities in Zaragoza, the capital of the northeastern autonomous community of Aragon, activated the emergency protocol after the citizen, suffering from some of Ebola symptoms, sought assistance of the emergency medical services, Spanish EFE news agency reported.
The citizen returned from Mali yesterday after spending three weeks in the African country.
Today's event happened three days after a Spanish relief worker, suspected of being Ebola infectee, left the hospital after a 21-day quarantine period thus making sure she was clear of the virus.
The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on December 2 that Spain was Ebola-free, 42 days after a Spanish nurse who got the virus during her treatment of a Spanish priest coming from Sierre Leone, was completely cured.
