Acting upon the instructions of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Director-General of Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Qhadi Saeed Al Marooshid on Thursday announced the payment of one month salary bonus for health professionals in medical fitness centres in Dubai in recognition of their loyalty, dedication and honesty in performing their duty. He said the gesture, which also followed directives by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Executive Council, would encourage the health workers to maximise their efforts for serving clients and preserving public health. He said the bonus would be paid along with the current month ?salary. The DHA chief made the announcement at the end of a tour he made along with Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Merri, Director of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, of the Safa Health Centre and Al Muhaisnah Medical Fitness Centre to inspect quality of medical services provided to applicants for health fitness certificates and health cards. He said the busy Al Muhaisnah Medical Fitness Centre today used one of the most advanced blood test device and the first of its kind in the UAE and the region at large. This, he stressed, underscores the DHA’s commitment to Shaikh Mohammed’s instructions to provide high quality health services to clients. He noted that about 1,500 expatriates enter Dubai daily for work and residency. Al Muhaisnah Medical Fitness Centre conducts between 3,200 and 5,000 medical examinations a day for applicants of residency visas. Major General Al Merri said the Centre’s residency and foreign affairs unit issued about 460,000 new residency visas and renewed more than 350,000 in the first half of the year. He said the department is prepared technically and in terms of human resources to cope with the rapid increase and big rush of expatriate employees to the centre, which serves residential areas around Al Muhaisnah neighbourhood. “The number of residence’s visa section is manned by not more than 12 employees, and there is possibility to beef up the number of exigency required so as to make it easy for applicants and speed up finalisation of the transactions as well as not to delay their interests”, he noted. This, according to him, is in pursuance of the directives of Shaikh Mohammed, who gives greater attention and personal follow-up to workers’ affairs and all residents on the good land of the UAE. New health centres in Mirrdiff, Marina Qhadi Al Marooshid said : “Work is underway to open two new health centers soon in Mirdiff neighbourhood and Dubai Marina, bringing the total number of the facilities to 20.” He said:” Al Muhaisnah Health Centre is one of the most important centres which receives increasing number of applicants for medical fitness certificates every day”.
