Seoul - Yonhap

A group of South Korean and U.S. scientists has developed a new delivery system for anti-cancer drugs that can specifically target cancer cells, enhancing the effectiveness of the drugs while reducing side effects, the science ministry said Thursday. The new system is based on the host-guest interaction between cyclodextrin and chemotherapy agent paclitaxel to create nano-assembly. Cyclodextrins are glucose molecules that have a wide range of commercial and medical applications, including helping to improve the solubility and stability of a wide range of drugs.
