
Acting Health Minister Eng. Adel Faqih held a press conference here today in which he said that the Ministry of Health has started implementing an urgent plan to analyze the nature of the Corona virus in addition to exploring the best ways to contain it and assess the health situation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The plan also includes discussing the measures to be taken to counter the threats posed by the virus as well as means of limiting its spread. he stated. Eng. Faqih also said "In the context of its ongoing efforts to find facts and collect information, the ministry is looking for ideas and recommendations made by the advisory medical board regarding means of limiting the spread of the virus." The Acting Health Minister also said "Recently, a series of effective measures and serious steps were taken to curb the spread of the virus in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These included field visits to a number of hospitals in various parts of the Kingdom to check their readiness to receive any cases infected with the virus. Moreover, an advisory medical board was established recently by the ministry to help in meeting this issue which challenges the public health in the Kingdom." "The measures also included the allocation of three medical centers to counter the virus, namely King Abdullah Medical City in Jeddah, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Riyadh and Dammam Medical Complex in Eastern Region," Eng. Faqih said. He also said that the Ministry of Health is considering all options that can cope with this challenge which affects the public health in the Kingdom, taking into account the ongoing efforts and strict procedures followed by the ministry as part of its urgent plan to safeguard the society in light of the current situation. "More decisions are expected in the coming days," Eng. Faqih said.
